Your workouts and iCloud

PhaseFlow stores workout titles, icons, ordering, phase names, durations and repeat structures on your device. It uses your private iCloud/CloudKit database to sync workouts between your devices when available. Apple processes the data and account/network information needed for iCloud under its own terms. There is no separate PhaseFlow account or Verilob-operated workout server. If cloud storage cannot open, the app can use local storage without sync; its last-resort temporary mode does not persist changes. Settings such as audio feedback, screen wake and pausing on calls are stored locally per device.

Phone, Watch and Lock Screen

The iPhone and Apple Watch exchange workout status through Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework, including the workout title, device, run identifier and timing information used for controls and takeover prompts. Live Activities show the current workout and phase on your Lock Screen and, on supported models, in the Dynamic Island. That information may be visible to someone looking at your screen. Siri and Shortcuts can control a running workout; Apple handles Siri requests according to your system settings and its privacy terms.

HealthKit permission on Apple Watch

The Watch app requests permission to start a HealthKit workout session so the timer can continue while your wrist is down. Version 1.0 reads no health data and saves no workout to Health or Fitness. It does not collect heart-rate, calorie or location records. You can manage permissions in your device’s privacy and Health settings. Without a workout session, the timer may not continue while your wrist is down.

Diagnostics and support

The app uses Apple’s local system logs for launch, storage, audio, sync and workout-session diagnostics. Its logging is designed to exclude user-entered workout titles and phase names. PhaseFlow includes no Verilob analytics, advertising or tracking SDK. Apple may process diagnostics according to your device settings. If you email support, we process your email address, message and attachments to answer your request. Send only what is necessary and remove private information from screenshots and logs.

This website

These PhaseFlow pages serve fonts, styles and screenshots locally and use no analytics, tracking cookies, browser storage or third-party embeds. Our hosting infrastructure receives your IP address, requested URL and browser/connection information to deliver and secure the site. The website is hosted on a Hetzner server. Email and external links involve their respective providers.

Purposes, legal bases and recipients

Where Verilob processes personal data, the purposes and legal bases are providing requested services or pre-contractual support (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), answering other enquiries and securing website operation (Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interests), and meeting legal duties (Article 6(1)(c)). Where required, consent is the basis under Article 6(1)(a) and may be withdrawn for the future. System permission prompts control technical access. Hosting and email providers may process data for us. Apple processes data when you use its services under its own terms; its privacy information describes international processing and safeguards.

Retention and deletion

You can delete workouts in the app; deletions can sync to other devices through iCloud. Manage iCloud data, device copies and backups separately in Apple’s settings. Removing the app from one device does not necessarily remove synced data or backups. We retain support correspondence only as long as necessary to resolve and document requests or meet legal duties. Website and security logs are kept for operation and protection, then removed when no longer needed. Contact us for the current hosting retention configuration. Apple’s retention rules apply to its services.

Your rights

Subject to the legal conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and data portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent without affecting prior lawful processing. Contact info@verilob.com. You may complain to a supervisory authority, including the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA). Verilob does not use the data described here for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
